Viking Battle for Asgard - Review

Viking: Battle for Asgard
Viking will have you playing in the role as Skarin a warrior from the settelment of Brighthelm. Skarin serves Freya the daughter of Odin against the queen of the underworld Hell. I found the story to be pretty good. Skarin really dosnt seem like a Viking but more as a normal warrior. I Also found the gameplay very repetitive. Pretty much you go to two our three locations fight hells leigon and free troops then assualt a city our fortress. Though I will admit the assaults are fun because it looks like a classic battel scenne with two armies running to each other then engaging in combat. There are about two stealth missons where you must sneak into cities that you will eventually assualt. I liked how you actually had to use stealth in these missons because if you don’t and try to fight everyone you will get overrun. The controls feel like the same as in God of War. The combat is fun at first with the dismemberment feature when Skarin cuts up his foes. But the combat will get tireing in no time. Though I did find the teleportation system quite coveinent. Pretty much what you have to do is touch a leystone then whenever you touch another you can teleport between the stones you have touched. You can also upgrade Skarin’s combat moves. All you have to do is visit a alter and pay the spirt and you learn different moves which will help during combat. You can find money for new moves our for items in the shop from dead leigon and in chests around the map. You can walk around the different maps but theres not much to do other then head to a misson. Later in the game you will unlock Dragons which will help out during thosse assaults. But even with its flaws Viking is still a decsent game that’s deffntly worth getting as long as your not looking for a game actually based on Vikings then you will most likely enjoy this game.
My Rating is a
7
