If everyone did one small thing everyday, it would add up to a lot. With that said one more thing you could do outside of unplugging that cellphone charger is to change that light bulb!! Most people still use those old incandescent bulbs, but if we all replace them with fluorescent bulbs not only will we be saving the earth an approximate 900,000 tons of greenhouse gases, we would also help you save a few dollars on the electricity bill also. So keep that in mind the next time that old lightbulb goes out on you!

P.S.
These bulbs contain small traces of mercury so be careful when changing them out and especially when disposing of them. To dispose of them properly, take them to your nearest recycling center or if your state or local environmental regulatory agency permits you may be able to simply wrap them in two plastic bags and thrown out into the outside trash bin. Don’t forget to wash your hands, you’re dealing with chemical substances!

Here’s the first thing you could do

PhotobucketThe first step you could do to help save the environment is to (drumroll please)…..unplug your cell phone charger!! Most people don’t realize this but even though your phone’s plugged up it is still drawing a current from the outlet thus still consuming energy. Now, I know, of all people how convenient it can be to come home from a long day of work or school and just plug up one end of the charger versus two. I like to look at it this way, if we don’t got an earth then how are you going to plug up your cell phone. If we all make small moves, it’ll all add up sooner or later. Kinda like a piggy bank!
