Red Cross to the rescue! for Pakistani quake victims.

November 2, 2008 by eLAyBee · Leave a Comment

earthquake, pakistan, news, worldThe 6.4-Magnitude quake struck early wednesday about 35 miles Northeast of Quetta. Followed by a 6.2-Magnitude aftershock 12 hrs later, left more than 200 dead and many many more injured.

The Red Cross has asked for $7.8 million in emergency funds to help the victims.

Although it hasn’t started to snow yet, the temperature is declining. The affected region could drop below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Aid organizations are trying to get as many blankets and various other heat sources to the victims before the cold hits.

I hope they can save as many as they can before the temperature drops. GO RED CROSS! =]

Medal Of Honor: Airborne - Review

October 15, 2008 by eLAyBee · Leave a Comment

Medal of Honor Airborne was a new experience that mixes your traditional WW2 shooter with the new element of parachuting out of a plane onto the battlefield. I must admit I have been getting tired of the mundane WW2 shooters but this game definitely encourages me give the genre another chance. The most interesting part of the game, as you can guess, is the parachuting. While the controls for the parachuting are a little difficult to control at first, over time you will get used to it and be able to land almost anywhere within range. If you are not experienced FPS, you should land in the green drop zones, as there are no enemies there. If you land anywhere else, you will most likely be surrounded by Nazi forces. Another interesting aspect of this game is the weapon load out. I enjoyed being able to pick what weapons I wanted to bring on the various missons. The new weapon upgrade system to this game is rather disappointing when you get enough kills with a weapon to get the upgrade. Another rather disappointing part to this game is the Campaign mode is too short. It is only six levels long . Though each level will take you about 30 to 45 minutes each, it will still leave you wanting more. Also, the game really does not heat up until the last three levels. The first three are really easy and a little boring. The online play is ok, you get to parachute down to the battlefield but its still no Call of Duty 4. The online levels felt too small to me. They took a level from the game, like most FPS, and made it smaller but I feel as if they made the levels too small as I found that most players wound up doing the same exact thing to accomplish the small map. I also found the weapons difficult to aim to do high recoil. Especially in the automatic weapons obviously. The controls are pretty much the same as most 1st person shooters. They are really simple and you will know them in no time. All and all this is a very solid game defiantly worth picking up.

Viking Battle for Asgard - Review

Viking: Battle for Asgard

 Photobucket

Viking will have you playing in the role as Skarin a warrior from the settelment of Brighthelm. Skarin serves Freya the daughter of Odin against the queen of the underworld Hell. I found the story to be pretty good. Skarin really dosnt seem like a Viking but more as a normal warrior. I Also found the gameplay very repetitive. Pretty much you go to two our three locations fight hells leigon and free troops then assualt a city our fortress. Though I will admit the assaults are fun because it looks like a classic battel scenne with two armies running to each other then engaging in combat. There are about two stealth missons where you must sneak into cities that you will eventually assualt. I liked how you actually had to use stealth in these missons because if you don’t and try to fight everyone you will get overrun. The controls feel like the same as in God of War. The combat is fun at first with the dismemberment feature when Skarin cuts up his foes. But the combat will get tireing in no time. Though I did find the teleportation system quite coveinent. Pretty much what you have to do is touch a leystone then whenever you touch another you can teleport between the stones you have touched. You can also upgrade Skarin’s combat moves. All you have to do is visit a alter and pay the spirt and you learn different moves which will help during combat. You can find money for new moves our for items in the shop from dead leigon and in chests around the map. You can walk around the different maps but theres not much to do other then head to a misson. Later in the game you will unlock Dragons which will help out during thosse assaults. But even with its flaws Viking is still a decsent game that’s deffntly worth getting as long as your not looking for a game actually based on Vikings then you will most likely enjoy this game.

GTA IV Review

Grand Theft Auto 4

I was quite excited to get to step back into the streets of Liberty City again. You take on the role as Russian immigrant Niko Belic. He is one of my more favorite GTA charcters. He is a good guy that is willing to defend himself. GTA 4 is a grade A story. The story takes place as Nikos cousin Roman picks Niko up from the docks and then introduces him around to meet his first contacts. The main hook Rockstar added to make this different then any other GTA game is that it has two different endings depending on what choices you make towards the end of the game. Like I said there is a choice system and most of the choices are if you should kill someone or let them live, along with you having to pick between killing one of two people. The Aiming system is probably one of my most favorite editions to this game. You get full manual control for all weapons which can really come in handy in some of those more difficult firefights. But for those who still like to use the auto aim it is still there. The weapons are nothing new they are the same weapons as in every other GTA game. Rockstar also redid the dating system from San Andreas . You get two main girlfriends and also three extra women you have the possibility of meeting on the internet. You can actually take your date to a show, bowling or just out for a drank. You can also go out with friends you make in the game. Certain friends and girlfriends have special abilities that can help you out in the game. Plus there is so much random things to do you’ll be playing for hours. The vehicles and handling is pretty much the same and the previous GTA. Another big thing for me was the online play. There are several different modes in the game, my personal favorite was cops and crooks, just beause had some awesome police chasses in it. Overall this is one of the better games I have played this year. So definitely go out and pick this up.
